I am a sculptor who uses clay to create abstract organic forms. This body of work addresses formal qualities of mass, volume, negative space and tension as the primary concerns within the objects and installations, while ideas of potential, growth, and reproduction are also referenced. All of these speak of the promise of things yet to come and through the work I examine the emotions evoked by these concepts. The installations are designed to create a dialogue between the objects, as well as fostering a visual or physical interaction between the work and the viewer. At every stage of making, the process is imbued with a love of the materiality of the medium.
